The “Thirteenth Five Year Plan” is a key period for China to make a powerful shipbuilding country，a large number of famous shipbuilding enterprises have started intelligent manufacturing technology application. In order to meet the demand of market and capacity, a smart pipe processing workshop with annual capacity of 300,000 pipe fittings can be built.

Smart pipe processing workshop will plan and design a panoramic digitalized workshop model through 3D workshop planning and logistics simulation , and set up five completely automated production lines for big pipe, medium pipe, small pipe, special pipe, and straight pipe with advanced equipment ，and integrate PLM system,  EISE system , and BCS system; Finally it will demonstrate a digitalized pipe processing workshop from multiple dimensions featuring manufacturing process fully under control.

The information construction of the smart pipe processing workshop will get through information flow of links concerning design, plan, and manufacturing, and realize transmitting 3D design model of pipe fittings, processing technology as well as technological parameter data to workplace and equipment.Equipment status, production process and product status can be gathered automatically, which make the production process effective, transparent  and  controllable.    

The first fully automated production line for straight pipe with medium and small diameters can be set up in the industry.It will include the following functional units: BCS, stereoscopic storing, automated cutting, automated labeling, assembly welding, and automated logistics etc.

BCS system can receive information from EISE system , and send production instructions to the automated master control unit in sequence.

With the automated stereoscopic warehouse, the stereoscopic storing unit can make automated storing and taking of pipe available.

.The automated cutting unit will through a bus controlled system which can sent processing instructions to realize auto pipe taking, auto cycle machining and auto exiting.

The automated labeling unit will use EO switch sensing and detecting pipe section entering the auto labeling machine. And the logistics system will automatically adjust labeling speed to realize fully automated labeling.

With robotics vision measurement technology and welding seam tracking technology, the assembly welding unit can realize simultaneous welding with several robotics.

The automated logistics unit runs through the whole pipe processing production line,which can realize auto transfer of pipe section in workplaces.  

Construct a management control center with centralized control and dynamic demonstration function which can, display in real-time production plan,production schedule and equipment operation status information.And finally it will construct an intelligent and comprehensive management control platform which is virtual-real integrated and responsive.

With organic combination of information technology and modern manufacturing technology, the smart pipe processing workshop will take intelligent manufacturing as its core, and build a world’s top, domestic leading, and virtual-real integrated digital workshop .

Under the guidance of maritime power strategy and “Made in China 2025” plan, JARI will practice “Intelligent Shipbuilding” philosophy,and expect to turn over a new leaf in shipbuilding industry.
