A Propitious Place, and a Famous Medical City
“The city is not very large, but has all kinds of earthly happiness.”
Taizhou 泰州is a prefecture-level city in the central part of Jiangsu province and on the north of the Yangtze River Delta, and also one of the central cities in Shanghai metropolitan area.
In Feb. 2005, Jiangsu provincial Party Committee and government made a significant strategic decision to build a pharmaceutical industry park and create a China medical city. Since the construction of China Medical City, the development concepts have been maintained, like insisting on high-quality schedule, high-level building, and high-positioning, with the focus on the theme of industrialization, capitalization, and training of talents. Thus, a development path unfolds from nothing to everything, from small to large, with a leaping development and on a large scale gradually.

In February 2010, the mechanism of co-building China Medical City by national ministries and provincial government was established.

In education and teaching area, a scientific research, teaching, and talent training base offering a variety of disciplines is established with distinctive features, based on Hanlin College of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and Taizhou Polytechnic.
