By following this video, your TCL portable air conditioner will provide you with reliable service for many
years. With TCLs compact design, installation and removal will be easy! Let us show you how!
Step 1: Please remove the unit and all parts from the carton and familiarize yourself with all parts and
instructions before installation.
For safe and secure positioning, place the unit on a smooth, level floor. Use caution when rolling on
carpeted surfaces or wood floors. Do not attempt to roll the unit over objects.
Never place any obstacles around the air inlet or outlet of the unit. Allow at least 18” of space away
from the wall for efficient air conditioning. The hose can be extended, but it is better to keep the length
to a minimum. Also, make sure the hose does not have any sharp bends or sags.
Step 2: If the window installation kit needs to be trimmed to fit your window, please cut the piece
without the hose attachment inlet hole to fit the window where you’ll be installing it.
Step 3: After reconfirming the window kit dimensions fit your window, lock them together using the
screws.
Extend the hose and thread the connectors onto each end. Install the hose inlet onto the unit. Affix the
hose outlet into the window slider kit. Then, use the foam sealer to close any gaps or air pockets.
For more detailed instructions for installation in other window types, please refer to the owner’s
manual.
Step 4: Once confirmed all of the connections are secured and in place, you’re ready to enjoy your
machine!
Step 5: Let’s set your portable air conditioner to Cool Mode which is ideal for muggy weather. To set
correctly, press the Mode button until the Cool symbol appears. Select your desired temperature
between 62℉-86℉ (17℃-30℃) by pressing the “Up” or “Down” button. The temperature range may
vary slightly for different models. Next, you can select the desired fan speed, by pressing the fan button.
Step 5: When using the unit in Fan Only Mode, the air hose does not need to be attached. Press the
Mode button until the Fan symbol appears. Next, press the fan button to choose High / Medium / Low
levels.
Step 6: The “Dry Mode” is ideal to reduce humidity. To use this mode, press the Mode button until the
“dH” symbol lights up. In this mode, fan speed is selected automatically.
During the DRY mode, you will need a garden hose (not included) or drainage hose to drain the
condensate. Unscrew the drain cap of continuous drain outlet. Connect one end of the hose to the drain
outlet then lead the other into a drain or bucket that is lower than the unit.
There are a few things to note: Condensate may flow out after removing the drain cap if the unit is
running in Cool mode. When you want to remove the garden hose, prepare a drip tray to collect the
condensate.
During Cool mode, to reach the maximum performance, it is recommended to disable continuous
drainage by replacing the drain cap to the drain outlet.
Step 7: To use the “Auto” function, press the Mode button until the illuminated light on the display is
circulating, then select the required fan speed. The unit will choose to operate in Cool, Fan or Heat
(Optional) Mode automatically.
Step 8: If your unit has a heat function, you can press the Mode button until the Heat symbol appears.
Then you can select your desired temperature between 62℉-86℉ (17℃-30℃). Please note that
temperature ranges may vary slightly by model. Next, you can select the fan speed as your wish.
Step 9: To set your unit to automatically turn on/off, press the “TIMER” button when the unit is off/on.
The set time period is up to 24 hours: each press will change the time period by 1 hour. A few seconds
after being set, the setting is memorized, the timer indicator is lit and the display shows that the
appliance is in standby. By pressing the Timer button again or the Power button, the timer will be
canceled, and the symbol will disappear from screen.
Step 10: To change the position of the louvers, press the air swing button on the remote control.
Step 11: To keep your unit working efficiently, clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner every few weeks. If
it’s very dirty, wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Before placing it back, make sure it is clean and
dry.
Step 12: At the end of the season, unplug the power cord and make sure the plug is undamaged. You
will also need to empty all collected water by removing the cap on the condenser drain at the bottom of
the unit. Then, wipe the unit down, clean the air filter and dry it thoroughly before storing the unit and
all parts in the original box.
With these simple steps to install, remove and maintain your unit, you will enjoy the comfort of a TCL
portable air conditioner for many years. Thank you for purchasing a TCL air conditioner and welcome to
the TCL family.
