Hi as it’s your first day - I would like to remind you electrical safety is

important. I would like to highlight to you some of the key areas and

  potential hazards in the workplace.

Improper use of electrical equipment and appliance can cause electric

shock, fire or even an explosion, resulting in serious or permanent injury,

or even death. Dont connect electrical wires together and repair

electrical appliance unless you are authorized and trained.

Be careful not to place flammable or water next to or near an electrical

  socket

Dont connect multiple power extension cords to one another

Never overload an extension cord by plugging in appliances that

exceed the maximum current rating of the cord especially the high

  demand electrical

Dont place wet items on the electric box

Dont store items in/next to the power distribution board

Power distribution board must be locked. box’s must be locked

Dont place combustible materials next to the electrical appliances

Yes there are many - improper use and overloading of power extension

cords and adapters is the most common cause of fires.

To avoid potential accidents, we must only purchase and correctly use

extension cords and adapters All electrical appliance and equipment

must meet the local safety and environmental standards

We must leave enough space around equipment for heat loss and

  ventilation

Watch out! Leave it for the professional electrician to repair. For

now to be safe we must turn off the power and display a “under repair”

  notice.

You must never touch electrical equipment with wet hands, that’s very

  dangerous!

Keep calm and ensure your own safety.

Dont touch the person until you have turned off the source of

  electricity

Call an ambulance and when available, inform a qualified first aider to

  provide assistance

Always remember to seek assistance from your supervisor if you are

unsure how to handle the situation
